Weird Road Rules

I usually manage to resist clicking on those attention-grabbing "strange but true news" headlines that flash across webpages, but I hit one this morning that I felt I should share with my fellow road trip fans. No doubt aiming to spice up their offerings, the otherwise sane and seemingly sober folks at DMV.ORG have collected an array of oddball driving laws from around the USA. Along with laws against driving with an ice-cream cone in your backpocket (don't try this in Kentucky!), or using old underwear to polish your car (illegal in San Francisco, of all places), the one that caught my eye applies in Minnesota, where it is illegal to cross state lines with a duck on your head, no matter if you're walking or driving a car. (And, if you're crossing into Wisconsin, the law also applies to chickens.)

Ignorance of these laws, as they say, is no excuse. You have been warned!
