Winter Warmth

It's that time of year again. Hurricane-force storms buffeting the Pacific Northwest, ice storms wreaking havoc in the Midwest, heavy snows in the Northeast. All this means it's time to get off the road and take shelter -- indoors, next to a warm fire, enjoying the company of family and friends.

So, while you plan your next road trip -- to test drive that new GPS gadget you hope to find in your stocking? -- let me wish you a very happy holiday, and a safe and sane New Year.

Here's to a great 2008!

Happy trails,

Jamie Jensen and the Road Trip USA crew

Not only GPS gadgets but audiobooks must be in the list when you plan to take a long road trip. Your favorite audiobooks will calm you down when you get angry by bad cops, weird laws etc. Sometimes it makes your kids sleep easily so they won't annoy your driving.

There are tons of audiobooks at this site

I'm with you! Especially when traveling with the younger generations, having an audiobook to listen to can set the perfect mood for a long drive.

Way better than DVDs -- 'cause you can still gaze out the window while listening to the story.
